What Does The Following Stool Test Of An Infant Indicate?
Hi doctor, my son passing motion in green yellow, he is 3 months old and 7.3 kg, yesterday we did stool test, reducing substance present(+) and pus cells range is 4-5, can you please let me know if any issue with the report and also we feel some indigestion, we want to change the formula( right now we are using lactogen) could you please suggest any other alternative, for our elder son we used lactodex.
I have gone through the stool report you have mentioned. No need to worry about this report. This is suggestive of indigestion to ongoing formula milk. So better to change it. Try Nanopro or Lactodex.
If he is improving with a change in a formula then no need to worry. But he is not improving then detailed evaluation to the rule out MAS (Malabsoption syndrome) is needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
