What Does The Following Stress Test Report Suggest?

Had a had a stress test yesterday. The report says myocardial perfusion imaging is abnormal. The SPECT images demonstrate a moderate perfusion abnormality of moderate to severe intensity located in the interior and inferolateral walls. The defect is not reversible. There is an area of hypofusion that suggests a previous inteferolateral myocardial infarction. There is no evidence of ischemia on this study . In layman terms please.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is a reduced blood supply in some parts of the heart, and it is fixed. It means there is blockage of coronary arteries. You have coronary artery disease or ischemic heart disease. You had a previous heart attack also. Please undergo angiography and then stent or bypass surgery. Till then take proper medicines and avoid fast fatty foods and avoid smoking and undue exertion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
