Hi Dr. Goyal, I recently had a cardiac flatter ablation under a general anesthesia followed by a hospital-introduced pneumonia and a 7-day combination of 2 antibiotics. The x-ray showed some abnormality in my lungs: XR CHEST 2 VIEWS PA AND LATERAL 3/28/2016 2:10 PM INDICATION: Aspiration pneumonia. Cough. COMPARISON: None. FINDINGS: Few strands of linear fibrosis or atelectasis in the lung bases. No focal infiltrates or effusions. Upper lungs clear. Normal heart size and pulmonary vascularity Could you explain the results in plain English, please? What can I do to return to normal lung function? Thank you. Luda V.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the x-ray finding of the chest indicates some changes of lung disease, like old scar of lung infection, pneumonia due to taken vomiting material inside the lung, no normal air entry lung does not inflates fully, with all this changes functional of the lung could be normal one but underlying cause of these changes needs to be found out and managed accordingly hope this information helps.
