What Does The Following Test Result Mean?

Hi, I am having bloated stomach and vomiting since yesterday. I am also having watery stools with mucus frequently. Whenever I eat something, I tend to vomit and/or have watery stools. Upon visiting a local medical shop, I have been diagnosed with following lab tests: Urine- no issues Stool- Brownish, watery, blood-nil, mucus-seen, R.B.C- nil, Pus cell- 8-10/HPF, Helmenth Parasite- no ova. seen; Protozoal parasite- cyst of Ehistolytica seen. Undigested food- seen. And I have been prescribed with some medicines. How long does it take for removal of these parasites? What types of food should I eat? Can I travel in about 5 days time?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
The result of the stool analysis is suggestive of intestinal amebiasis (infection of the intestines caused by the protozoal parasite Entameba histolytica).
You need to take the prescribed medicines for at least 10-14 days for the eradication of the parasites.
You should avoid hot and spicy food, eat home cooked soft meals, increase the intake of fruits, vegetable soups, or juices. If your loose motions and vomiting are controlled and you do not suffer from dehydration, there is no harm in travelling after 5 days.
Hope this answers your query.
