What Does The Following Thyroid Biopsy Report Suggest?

Rare Thyrocytes in a Background of Blood Colloid. (Thyroid Bethesda system Category 1: Non Diagnostic) Cytologic findings: Smears (6 slides) are paucicellular and show rare small clusters of small thyrocytes in a predominantly hemorrhagic backgrund with colloid material. This is the reading from my sisters biopsy what does it means?

Hello welcome to the health care magic

In such case clinical correlation is necessary and investigate with USG scan of thyroid

Your serum TSH, T4 estimation also should be done

And your FNAC report shows colloid in background in studied slide so chances of malignancy not there

It is Benign condition of thyroid gland

But here adequate material not present for follicular cells, so if needed repeat FNAC can be done or biopsy will be beneficial
