What Does The Following Transvaginal Scan Report Suggest?

I have a transvaginal scan that shows focal area of hypoechogencity measuring 6mm with no discreeet mass and a heterogeneous endometrium toward the fundus. I am 53 with irregular frequent mensrtration . I have been asked by my gyn to have a hysterosonogram with her next week. Should I be concerned ?

Hi I think you should g9 for an endometrial biopsy to rule out any endometrial pathology. It can be done hysteroscopically also. Wait for the report. It can be due to endometrial hyperplasia. You may need some hormonal treatment. Chance of endometrial carcinoma is also there, but you have to wait till the report. Hope it helps.
