What Does The Following Ultrasound Report Indicate?

My LMP was July 15 and my HPT was done sept 1. This oct 5 i had my transvaginal ultrasound coz of spotting an the findings is The uterus is retroverted. It measured 70x42 mmLXAP. No solid nor cysric myometrical mass lesion is seen. A flattend gestational sac is seen intraluminally meas 16x14x16mm HXWXAP. No definite live petal pole seen within. Some echogenic material is seen surrounding the sac almost 15mm thick probably circumferential hemorrage. The lower segment is closed. Conclusion is retroverted uterus with an early gestational sac of about 5 weeks or less with undetermined viability and circumferential hematoma. My ob advised to repeat the ultrasound after 2 weeks. Pls help me to understand it clearly. Thank you in advance

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The ultrasound report says that there is a gestational sac in the uterus indicative of pregnancy. However, it says that there is no defnitive live fetal pole seen, which means that it cannot be concluded at this stage that the pregnancy is viable. Also, there is an indication of bleeding around the sac, which could say that the pregnancy might not have taken up properly.
The age of gestation according to scan is about 5 weeks, which is lesser when calculated from your LMP.
Kindly get a repeat scan after 2 weeks as advised and hope for the best.
All the best.
