What Does The Following Urine Analysis Report Suggest?

Hi Doctor, My son is 4.5 years old. Last few weeks he was keeping hands on the penis. We thought it was some skin infection and went to see a skin doctor who confirmed it was not related to skin and asked us to take urine test and culture. urine cuture report says it has amorphous urates crystals. We took Ultrasonography of Abdomen and KUB. Results - All were normal - Spleen measured 76 mm. Urinary bladder low level echoes noted. impression: CYSTITIS Culture says Few pus cells and few epithelial cells seen. No bacteria. No growth in culture. Please advise.

Hi,

Your son has ureate crystals in urinalysis. His symptoms might be due to small stones going through the urinary canal and cause a few pus cells but no clear findings of bacterial infection in the culture.
I would recommend you to give him plenty of fluids to drink, this is the way the cristals and small stones are washed off and the symptoms improve.
