Hi I'm a 32 year old female. I had been check my urine and found out there's Haemoglobin (Dips): 10 Erc/uL (For urine specimens >2 hours old since collection time, there may be some degenerative changes to the formed elements.) Urine Microscopy Erythrocytes: 2 to 5 /HPF Should that be worried? Thank you for your time and expertise.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Hemoglobin in urine is present due to rupture of red blood cells and passage of hemoglobin in urine. Presence of red blood cells in urine suggests bleeding in the urinary tract. Stones are the most common cause of bleeding in the urinary tract. A complete assessment of the urinary tract and kidney is required to know the cause of bleeding i the urinary tract. Appropriate management can be done after assessing the kidney and the urinary tract.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
