My husband applied for life insurance and has had no medical issues in his life he is 34.We got a letter saying that there is elevated liver function GGTP -66.0 SEPT -195.0 found in labs, positive hep c screen. What could this mean . Andis this treatable and what can we do from thus point on

Hi Thanks for your query Hepatitis C positivity means your husband is infected with Hepatitis C virus which causes inflammation of the liver. That is probably the reason for raised liver enzymes. He needs treatment for ongoing hepatitis as it can progress to cirrhosis and carcinoma if left untreated. Hope this helps Regards
