On 3/2/15 my AST/SGOT was 28.0 U/L. On 8/25/15 my A1c was 6.0. On 3/10/16, my AST/SGOT was 120 u/l (not hemolyzed) and my ALT 111 u/l. My A1c on 3/10/16 was 6.7. Because of pain in my right leg (maybe due to back, hip, or knee problems), i was given a shot in L5 on 4/4/16 of Depo-Medrol. My Dr. is now treating me with metFORMIN 500 MG tablet for diabetes. X-rays show two fractures in the back which do cause pain, problems with hip and knee joints in both legs. My pain seems to come from my right hip to my right knee. I am using a back brace. My orthopedic doctor is trying to see if the pain is from my back (there is a vertabrae that is out of aligment). In the mean time, I am watching what I eat, losing weight from 232 to 119 lbs, and using metal crutches and a walker to get around. I have never been challenged like this before. My wight 20 years ago was 292 lbs. I have kept my weight off all these years. I am going for another pain shot on May 2,2016. I wonder if the pain injection caused my liver function to go up and my A1c to rise? Any thoughts?
