what does the nodulocalcific granuloma means? found on my right lung. i was having a cough and phlegm when i had my xray. please help me understand and be clarified because this became a hindrance for me to work in GCC countries. is there any way i can remove it without surgery?thank you.rich
Thanks for your question on HCM. Any lung insult whether TB or pneumonia or trauma can cause scar in lungs after healing. And healing can occur by 1. Fibrosis 2. Calcification 3. Rarely complete resolution. So yiu are having calcific lesion in lung due to past lung insult. This is not active lesion. This will not harm you or community. And no treatment is required as it is not a disease or harmful. And once a calcified nodule, always a calcified nodule. It will remain as it is. No need to worry for this. For your work visa related problems, I advice you to consult pulmonologist and get done CT THORAX and Bronchoscopy and BAL ( Broncho Alveolar Lavage ) analysis for TB. If both are negative than you can argue visa authorities about not having active TB.
