What Does The Numbing Sensation On Head Signify?

I am a pastor and do a lot of public speaking. I have a numbing yet hollow feeling on top of my head and inside myt head near my right ear. It s a hollow yet full sensation and I hear my own voice inside my head. Weird. No pain and I seem to hear ok. What is up?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

There is no need to worry about your current symptoms, as they do not suggest any serious brain disease.

You need to take rest and relax a bit. Also, ensure that you get a proper sleep.

If these symptoms persist, then, please consult a neurologist and get evaluated. An MRI of brain may be done to exclude ischemia (lack of blood supply to brain).

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Neurology)
Senior Consultant Neurologist
