What Does The Presence Of Fibrolinear Densities In The Left Upper Lung On My Chest X-ray Indicate?

Hi, good day! MAY I ask about my chect x-ray result. It says there are fibrolinear densities noted in the left upper lung. The trachea is in the midline. The heart is not enlarged. The pulmonary vessels are within normal limits. Both hemidiaphragms are distinct. The osseous thoracic cage reveals no significant bony abnormality.

Hello,

Fibrolinear densities noted in the left upper lung is indicative of a previous infection (like tuberculosis, etc., in the upper left lung). It may also be suggestive of old pneumonia, chronic inflammatory changes, exposure to irritants (e.g., smoking, pollution), etc. If you have symptoms like cough, breathlessness, or weight loss, or have a history of TB, chronic lung disease, or occupational exposure, you are advised to get clinically examined by a local doctor. Get all pulmonary function tests, a sputum test if TB or an infection is suspected and a CT scan done. Your other findings are normal.
