What Does The Pus Cells In The Urine Indicate?

Hi, I have been having pain in my sides and lower back on and off for some years now. I have had several tests, but no one has found anything of substance. My ESR and C Ractive Protein are always slightly raised and I usually (but not always) have protein in my Urine. My latest results show my pus cells in my urine to be at 90 and my red cells at 43. What could this indicate?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Presence of pus cells in urine could be due to presence of infection or kidney related disorder.
Presence of red blood cells in urine can be due to bleeding in the urinary tract or disease in kidney.
Accompanying proteinuria is suggestive of kidney disease.
ESR and C reactive proteins are non-specific findings are their presence suggests presence of some inflammatory condition.

I would suggest to get kidney function tests to know the status of kidney functions.
Consult your primary health provider for prescription of kidney function tests and thus management.
Pain on lower back and sides suggests a renal origin of symptoms.

Thanks and take care
