What Does The Red Spot In My Throat After A Tonsillectomy Indicate?

Hi, I had a tonsillectomy 8 days ago and just went up to get a drink cause my throat was really dry. Upon spitting small pools of blood were coming out. I wasnt worried cause I know its normal but then I looked back in my throat with a flashlight and saw a big red spot forming. Is that my scab falling off too soon or a bloodclot?
