What Does The Report Say?

Hello Doctor,

My wife pregnant and the LMP is on 26th May. Please can you advise the exact GA. Also, the ultrtasound scan remarked - Kidney shows minimally dilatd renal pelvis and a.p. diameter measure 0.8 cm each.

Please can you advise if this is major problenm and the remedies thereof.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The renal pelvis diameter follows a range as given below
up to 5 mm till about 26 weeks.
from 5 to 8 mm from 26 to 33 weeks and
from 8 mm to 10 mm from 33 weeks till term.

If the GA by dates is matching the above range of measurements then everything is normal.
