What Does The Results Showing Negative RA, CBC Indicated Low WBC, High RBD, High Hemoglobin Indicate?
My 3 year old has been having foot pain for over a year, more frequently recently. His pediatrician decided to do some tests to see what was going on. He was negative RA, CBC indicated low WBC, high RBD, high hemoglobin, positive ANA 1:320, speckled. She refered us to a Rheumatologist. What do these results mean?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A history of foot pain and a positive anti-nuclear antibody 9ANA of 1:320) suggests presence of some connective tissue disorder. Connective tissue disorder includes rheumatoid arthritis, mixed connective tissue disorder, Sjogren's disease, SLE, dermatomyositis, etc. As you have mentioned that the test for Rheumatoid arthritis ( RA) has come out to be negative, other connective tissue disorders need to be ruled out. Connective tissue disorders are multi system disorders so they can affect the blood cells also like red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Thus, the low white blood cell count could be due to the effect of connective tissue disorders.
