What Does The Sperm Count Interpret In A Semen Analysis?
My husband is 41 yrs old, has a height of approx. 1.5 metres and weighs 115 kg. The result of my husband's semen analysis (specimen examined about 1 hour after collection) is as follows:- Volume: 0.8ml Colour: white Viscosity: normal Sperm count: 61 x 10(to the power of 6) /ml Motility: 70% progressive motility 20% non-progressive motility 20% non-motile Immature forms: few Abnormal forms: 10% Leucocytes: +
what is the interpretation of the above-mentioned results? what is the level of my husband's fertility? would appreciate a detailed explanation
hello user , the interpretation is as follows - the sperm count is fine ( normal count is above 20 million), motility is also fine ( 70 % against the requirment of 50%) , immature forms being few is good , the presence of leucocytes is not quantified , a few can be found in a normal report but if many are present/hpf that indicates some kind of infection , but anyhow that can be treated with antibiotics . so overall based on this report there should not be much problem in fertility of your husband. hope i answered your query - any followup queries are welcome - if satisfied please rate the answer
