What Does The Sputum AFB Test Showing No Acid Fast Bacilli Seen Mean?

Hi, doc.! I am 36 yrs. old, 5ft and 6 inches tall, 130 lbs.My Chest X-ray resulted to PTB 3. I am positive in skin test. 2 weeks after of my medication i undergo sputum. My sputum AFB (3days) test results: few pus cells, few epithelial cells, no acid fast bacilli seen. What does it mean?

hello, welcome to health care magic, your sputum analysis shows that the tuberculosis causing bacteria[acid fast bacilli] are not found . hence your sputum test is within limits and your diagnosis of PTB 3 is correct. you need to continue your medication as adviced. hope this info was useful
