Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

A varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum. Most varicoceles develop over time. Fortunately, most varicoceles are easy to diagnose and many don't need treatment. It need to be treated surgically only if your varicocele causes pain, testicular atrophy or infertility, or if you are considering assisted reproductive techniques, you may want to undergo varicocele repair.
