Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Findings: The liver is enlarged and homogeneously echogenic. Subtle nodular contour to the hepatic periphery. Normal hepatopedal flow in the portal vein. Poor penetration of the liver due to increased echotexture. Given limitations no evidence for intrahepatic ductal distention or mass. Patient is status postcholecystectomy. Common bile duct measures 7 mm in diameter. No filling defects or wall thickening. Partially visualized pancreas is unremarkable. There is splenomegaly measuring 16 cm. Right kidney measures 12.3 x 5.1 x 6.2 cm and has a cortical thickness of 1.5 cm. Left kidney measures 13.4 x 6.9 x 5.5 cm and has a cortical thickness of 2.0 cm. 11 mm calcification is seen at the left lower renal pole, nonobstructing. No evidence for obstructive uropathy. No additional evidence for nephrolithiasis. No evidence for renal mass or inflammation. Normal flow to both kidneys.
The ultra sonography shows enlarged liver, possibly due to fatty liver. Spleen also is bigger than normal. There are no masses (tumors). Kidneys are normal. Since there is no mention as to why was the investigation done, it is difficult infer anything further. Fatty liver is seen quite often in most people, particularly if some one is over weight. Even regular alcohol intake also can contribute to it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar, Diabetologist
