What Does The Urine Test Result Indicate?

Hi, I have 2 stones in my right kidney one is the size of 13.9mm and other is size of 9.5mm. Doctor was suggested 2 more tests and I did. I got the reports today that are given below-URINE EXAMINATION, ROUTINE; URINE, R/E 1- (Automated Strip test, Chemical, Light microscopy) R.B.C. 0-1 RBC/HPF Negative (other things are normal in this test)2- UREA, SERUM (Urease UV) 16.00 mg/dL 17.00 - 43.00(range) 3- CREATININE, SERUM (Compensated Jaffe s reaction, IDMS traceable) 0.84 mg/dL 0.67 - 1.17(Range) Please advice what should I do next? Is it a serious problem.Please help me.Thanks Sanjiv Singh

Thanks for writing in.

Your kidney stones are moderate in size. It is to be seen whether they are causing any hydronephrosis on ultrasound scan. The kidney function tests are normal as you can see from urea and serum creatinine levels.

You may continue to take adequate amounts of water and pass urine as you get the urge. The main stress is on the stone location and if there is any obstruction to passage of urine from kidney to bladder. This can be suspected if you have pain on the affected side.

Please consult an urologist and get ultrasound repeated as required, once in 3 - 6 months.
