Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Jyothi B L's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Both the thyroid lobes appear to be normal in size. Areas of fibrosis seen all over. 2. Moderate echo pattern means equal variation, which is a common findings, where hashimotos thyroiditis will involve the whole of the thyroid. 3. Focal calcification is normal. 4. FNAC is necessary for confirmation along with biochemical studies. Treatment for hypothyroidism should be started and continued for life. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
