What Does Thickening Affecting The Ethmoid Air Cells Mean?

What is meant in an xray report that there is thickening affecting the ethmoid air cells and the frontal sinuses? Have been trying saline sparys antibiotics a few weeks ago, headaches pain and sometimes sever teeth pain that dentist checked and found no issues with teeth. I wake up 3 or 4 times a night with pain and need to take pain meds

Thanks for writing to HCM

Thickening in ethmoid air cells and frontal sinuses are due to changes of sinusitis.
It may be due to allergy.You need steriod spray along with antibiotics if there is infection.
It is also important to check the status of maxillary sinus.Contrast CT Scan of PNS should be done for proper evaluation.
Operative need can be decided after clinical examination and investigation reports.
