What Does This CT Abdomen And Pelvis Scan Report Indicate?

Yes. My CT Abdomen + Pelvis scan with contrast medical report says: Bilateral kidneys enhance symmetrically. There is a cyst measuring 13 mm arising from the midpole of the left kidney. There is no evidence of hydronephrosis, hydroureter or perinephri. Fat stranding. The previously seen stone in the distal left ureter is no longer identified. [The urologist removed the stones by surgery.] The report goes on in the Impression Section: Left renal cyst.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Previous renal stones with formation of renal cyst suggests possibility of recurrence of renal stone. Simultaneous management of the cyst and prevention and treatment of stones would help. Please consult a kidney specialist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
