What Does This CT Scan Finding Indicate?

A Ct scan has shown a polypoidal mucosal thickening of the right posterior ethmoid air cell group where a polyp is measuring 10 x 7 mm. Cannot get into seeing a specialist for a few months, is the polyp likely to grow quickly and is there a chance of it being cancerous?

Hello,

Polyps in the sinuses are usually slow growing. They can take months to years to grow and some grow to a certain size and remain at that size.
Polyps are also not cancerous. However, if the polyp begins to grow quickly, that would be a worrying sign.

If it is indeed a polyp, waiting a couple of months should not be too big a deal. However, the earlier these things are sorted out, the better.

All the best.
