What Does This CT Scan Post Smoking Withdrawal Indicate?

in 2009 I had a ct scan done .I had quit smoking in 2007 and was a heavy smoker over 20 years.I am 44 now and im scared .In 2009 my ct scan showed empysoumos changes .My pulmonary doctor said the tests he ran showed no emphysema and that I should not worry. How can the ct say one thing and the function tests say another.Im pretty active person and im scared that I will one day be hit with the disease. Its causing extreme anxiety .

cannot say in your particular case AND, the direct measure of how much wind you have is a much more important test than the x ray / ct. If you have a big chest, you have a lot of lung and some scarrs or holes on the xray are not as valid a measure of lung capacity as how much air you move.
