What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

Follow up CT Scan results. 7mm nodule at the medial aspect of the upper left lobe. It was 6mm on 4/29. Scarring at the medial aspect of right middle lobe and at the lingula. Mild irregularity at the right anterior carina. Recommended followup 12 months. My question is: If the was 1mm growth in 8 weeks, shouldn t I follow up sooner. I have multiple cancer risk factors. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You should follow up again in next few weeks or at 3 month according to my opinion. If it is still enlarging in size than CT or ultrasonography guided biopsy can be taken for reaching up to diagnosis.

The histopathology examination from biopsy will help in exclude cancer.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
