What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

granulomatous calcifications are present within the spleen. tiny cyst is present in upper pole left kidney. These were noted in a chart during an emergency surgery for a hernia / bowl upstruction surgery, but no one ever said anything to me about these two things. What do these mean? Should i follow these up with a doctor?

Hello,

Granulomatous calcifications seen within your spleen are indicating possible sarcoidosis or other pathologies of the spleen, I think should follow up with infectious disease specialist first. Perhaps that is related to the primary diagnosis you've been asked to run CT-scan urgently at ER.

With regard to tiny cyst in upper pole of left kidney, usually they are present by passing of time. Depending on your age, they should not be a problem. Unless, there is changes in kidney function test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

All the best.

Regards,
