What Does This EKG Report Indicate?

I was in the ER for asthma last week and just got my ekg results in an email. It says Possible LEft Atrial Enlargment, Left Ventricular hypertrophy and T Wave abnormality consider inferior ischemia, Abnormal EKG. They sent me home on asthma medication but never mentioned any of these issues on the EKG. Is this something I need to get checked ASAP?

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Your EKG is remarkable and demands you to get proper follow up and necessary treatment if needed.

According to the details you gave, your heart chambers are looking enlarged and thickened; and there is some abnormal pattern on the EKG which is usually seen when there is improper blood supply to the heart muscles itself. It may be due to atherosclerosis and narrowing of the heart blood vessels. If you don't treat it properly an timely, it may lead to Myocardial Infarction (heart attack) if the blood vessels are clogged.

Yes, you need to consult a cardiologist for proper heart evaluation and diagnostic tests. He will do some physical exam and then a repeat EKG and Exercise stress test. If needed he may go for angiography to see whats the status of coronary vessels of the heart.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead. Keep in touch for a follow-up too to let me know if you have any doubts & need further assistance. I am available 24/7 for your help. Have a blessed time ahead.

Regards!
