Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am female, 52 yo. Yesterday I had an EKG (for heart-unrelated reasons) which said possible left atrial enlargement and septal infarct, age undetermined. I know what these things mean. My question is: what s the false positive rate (roughly) for these kinds of computer diagnoses? The machine would have been pretty up-to-date -- a major teaching hospital. Thanks
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that machines give automated reports and you need a physician to supervise that report. Kindly consult back with ecg.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
