What Does This HCG Level During Early Pregnancy Indicate?

5wk+ diagnosed with positive pregnancy (cfm'ed high baseline Hcg). U/S confirms small gestational sac with mildly deformed shape. Under Progesterone daily injections. No H/B nor Yolk Sac nor fetal pole yet. What is worrying is the small decrease in b-Hcg from 19000+ to 15000+ over 48h. Is this viable pregnancy? Thx

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
HCG should double every 48-72 hours during early pregnancy, if not it may indicate a problem with the pregnancy. See your obstetrician for further evaluation.
