Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand the concern for your husband.
After going through the report, it appears that he is having 'hepatitis' - infection of the liver. It is called 'hepatic jaundice'. Most probably it could be caused by Hepatitis A virus.
His liver enzymes SGOT and SGPT are quite high with high levels of bilirubin as well. It clearly says his liver cell has been damaged due to viral infection.
What has been prescribed is right medications and he needs to continue with it as advised for the specified period.
Also he needs to be on bland diet rich in easily digestible carbohydrates and adequate rest during this period at least for 3 weeks.
Gradually, his jaundice will subside and he will start improving.
He may get his liver function test done after 15 days to see for the improvement. Enzyme levels will come back to normal by about a month.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish him speedy recovery.
