General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What report you have furnished is incomplete as it gives values about only two enzymes pertaining to the liver. Creatinine levels with 1.52 is upper limit of normal and reflects the functioning status of the kidney.
SGPT with 64 U/L and SGOT with 56 U/L reflects two-fold increase above normal, and hence it indicates there is some amount of hepatocellular dysfunction.
However, you need get the following tests done to know weather jaundice is present and what type, so that appropriate treatment can be planned.
1. Serum Total, Direct and Indirect Bilirubin levels.
2. Serum alkaline phosphatase level.
3. Urine Bile salts and Bile pigments.
4. Ultrasound scan of the abdomen.
Kindly consult Physician with the reports for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
