I had the sciatic nerve blown between L-5 and S-1 lumbar stenosis causing right sided vascular pain and numbness tingling requiring lumbar surgery. within one day of the surgery, all symptoms returned with pain... after an MRI ... it revealed a hemotomia... back into surgery to remove the blood and inserted a drain. The last surgery was August 8th, came home felt great... Then the beginning of the week of September 19th pain returned, I called surgeons office, they ordered another MRI.. that revealed fluid under the skin at incision sight. they sent me stat for another epidural.. pain had increased now into left leg with numbness and sciatic nerve pain. the second MRI showed no decrease inseparation of between L-5 and S-1.. this is being attributed to the stenosis of the nerve. the nerve is under going regeneration. however, worse than before.
1.The report suggest there are post operative changes possibly bleed / oedema seen in the subcutaneous plane in the post operative site. 2.The collection could be causing pressure effect on the nerve, chord causing radiating pain the leg. 3.There is an exiting nerve root compression mentioned in the report at L5-S1 level. 4.For collection you may need to see your surgeon - a small incision and drainage might be needed followed by a course of antibiotics. 5.The stenosis need to be relieved in order to reduce the pain radiating to the leg.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
