What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

Dear Dr, I have pain in right knee since last 2 months. I feel pain while driving a car and sitting for long. I have done MRI and the result came as irregular partial thickness loss of cartilage of patella. I have been asked to do muscle strengthening exercises and doing it for 20 days. I am not finding major relief. How long will it take to see the relief and is it curable?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated.
In severe cases arthroscopic repair may be the only option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
