Hi,

Spine is the chain of bone in the back that supports the back and also protects the nerves that carry information between the peripheral organs and tissues and the brain. It consists of Vertebrae and intervertebral discs. Vertebra is the bone which has anterior vertebral body and the posterior lamina with a space. Between the two vertebrae is the intervertebral disc which is fibrous tissue that helps in movement of the spine by acting as shock absorbers. Spinal nerve are the nerves from the spinal cord that runs through the intervertebral foramen present between two vertebra. Spinal cord runs through the spinal canal. Spinal cord is covered by the protective membrane called thecal sac filled with cerebrospinal fluid.

In your report, there is bone growth seen in the Cervical vertebrae C5 and C6 which press the thecal sac at that level and there is pressure effect over the spinal nerve root which gets emerging from the spinal cord. Depends on the symptoms and progression, management differs. Treatment options starts from physical therapy, heat and cold therapy to analgesics. Surgery is the final hope of management, if there no improvement with other therapies.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
