What Does This MRI Report Mean?

I m 41 yrs old, 80kg, 5 10 . Recently, I started playing tennis in clay court which caused problem in right knee. Now I ve difficulty in stepping on stairs, jogging/walking etc. The MRI findings are as below: - - T1 hypo, T2 hyper and STIR hyperintensity noted articular & non-articular surfaces of medial femoral condoyle with destruction of overlying articular cartilage and secondary Subchondrial cyst formation. The findings s/o ? Post traumatic bony changes/ ? Osteochondritis dessicans. - Focal STIR hyperintensities in MCL without loss of fibers integrity, s/o Intrasubstance MCL tear. - Grade II horizontal tear in posterior horn of medial meniscus. Please say in layman s term what actually is the problem and what are the remedies to make me able to play again. Thanks.

Hello,

The MRI report is indicative of post traumatic events in terms of damage to surrounding structures of the knee joint causing difficulties in the day to day activities. The initial remedy needs physiotherapy, analgesic with anti-inflammatory medications later on surgical exploration with arthroscopy is the ultimate option to cure it best possible way. The return to work depends upon the reconstruction of the damaged structures of the knee joint.
