What Does This MRI Result For Brain Indicate?

My mom has been receiving treatments for non differentiated small cell cancer that has metastasized to her brain. Her latest MRI abnormal enhancement and ring enhancement of certain areas. Are these the same as lesions? It also states hyper signal of the right mastoid air cells. Is this an infection? Should she be on antibiotics for the mastoid disease?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Enhancement in brain suggests increased blood supply and thus a possibility of metastasis. Hyper-signal of the right mastoid could be due to infection in mastoid. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
