What Does This MRI Scan Result For Burning Sensation In Left Leg And Hip Indicate?

Hi! Sir, two years ago I did an accident, now I am feeling bullet burning effect in my left leg and hip joint when I stand for more than 20 minutes daily at night time. When I sit down, my leg and hip joint become relax. No problem when I am moving or sitting.I did MRI scan of Lumbosacral Spine which is normal and X-ray for Sacroiliac joint which is not normal and a little bit problem found. My doctor advised me to take some Antibiotics for 10 days and Eperisone HCL for 1 month. He also said we will do another X-ray for sacroiliac joint after one month if the problem appears as increasing in the X-ray then that will not be the cause of accident and we will do some more test. Now I am confused that what the other causes of this burning effect? What disease that affects the Sacroiliac joint?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since your SI joint X-Ray shows some pathology, your symptoms can be related to the accident. However, pain, discomfort and burning sensation in the leg and hip joint may be due to other medical conditions like ankylosing spondylosis, rheumatoid arthritis, reactive arthritis, sciatica, developing peripheral neuropathy and psoriatic arthritis.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist & a GP. Get all required Blood & Imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected & the severity of your condition.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
