What Does This MRI Test Result For Neck Indicate?

Hi, I have just had an mri on my neck after an injury to it and it states I have a subtle osteodiscal elevation to the anterior theca at C5/6 and sub millimetre elevation of the anterior theca. Also minimal undulation is seen at the anterior theca. Could you please explain what these terms mean? Just wondering whether it is anything serious.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it means soft tissues between the disc of vertebrae in the cervical spine, are mildly structurally altered as it is elevated from the front which means the gap or space may be decreased. Also, the compression on the nerve may be caused.

If so, medical treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs will be first-line alongwith neck collar and gabapentin, etc. If it still doesn't improve neurosurgeon review may be needed.
