What Does This MRI Test Result For Spine Indicate?
Hi I have an mri scan & the results tell me this: I have a prominent right posterolateral annular bulge that lies in direct contact with the right S1 nerve root but no nerve root compression is identified on the scan but what I don t understand is what the intense pain I feel coming from that exact area L5-S1 & resonating through lower back, flutes, pelvis, legs & inflammation in the groin area etc. If there s a bulge surely it s resting on the sciatic nerve? What do you think? Thank you
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns. It is important to correlate radiological films with clinical scenario. It is important to get the second opinion on this MRI. if you are experiencing pain then you should take rest. Adding painkillers along with the muscle relaxants is very good option for it. repeat MRI after two months to look for any progression. meet orthopedic surgeon. Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain Get well soon Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask Regards Dr Saad Sultan
