What Does This MRI Test Result For Thoracic Spine Indicate?

I am a 28 year old female. My MRI of my thoracic spine shows a diffuse decrease signal of the bony marrow. It says that it could be seen in anemia or other hematological process. Can you explain further? A few years back I had to have infusions for iron deficiency anemia.

Hello,

It would be helpful to see your MRI film. Diffuse decrease signal of the bone marrow could be caused from your bone marrow not working well in producing red blood that can cause you anemia.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
