What Does This MRI Test Result For Throat Indicate?
Hi I m 60 years old,he of papillary micro-carcenoma thyroid metastatic to regional lymph nodes. Have had persistent disease for 8 years now. A recent MRI shows a thornwaldt cyst in the upper posterior nasopharyngeal mucosa. I ve had problems swallowing and lots of problems breathing if I lay flat. Can these cysts become cancerous?

No its just a benign cyst. And in most cases of thornwaldt cysts in nasopharnx, there is no need to treat if asymptomatic. But you are having symptoms of obstruction on kying flat, so consult Ottorhinolaryngologist for assessment and if it's needed to be removed through surgery.
Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
