Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have had pain in back up thru left shoulder. Now that pain is mostly gone but my fingers have remained numb at all times. Dr did xrays and below was his and radiologist s report. The C-spine showed some arthritis and disc narrowing from levels 3 to 6, but it was relatively mild Any exercise to do and anything I shouldn t be doing. How can I get numbness gone and back to working out, etc.?
Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. Looking at the history of your presentation and X-ray findings, it says that there are changes in cervical spine indicative of 'cervical spondylosis'. There is arthritis changes which is noted along with narrowing of disc space between C3 to C6 vertebra, which will compress the nerve endings, thus causing symptoms you are experiencing. You need to wear cervical collar continuously during day time for a month and later on while travelling or sitting at one place for a long time. You can take analgesics with muscle relaxants combination as and when required to decrease pain and muscle spasms. You can take Physiotherapist's opinion for neck strengthening exercise, which when you do will make you feel better from what problems you are facing. You can do your routine work. Gradually, you will improve from this condition. All the best.
