What Does This X Ray Report Indicate?

I got xray of my son 3 year old. Fisrts point of report says inhomogeneous opacities are seen in bilateral lung field suggestive of consolidation. 2nd point says right lwer zone is hazy with obscured costophrenic angle likley suggestive of pleural effusion. What does his mean. Is he suffering from pneumonia?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
Your sons chest xray report suggests he is having lower respiratory tract infection, that is pneumonia. Pleural effusion means collection of fluid in pleural space occurs following viral or bacterial pneumonia. It will be cured with a course of antibiotics.

Thank you
