Hi my mother in law s 75 years old. Recently we got her chest x Ray done (suggested by a physician) as she was suffering with severe cough at regular intervals. The other findings were normal however one abnormality indicated was atheromatous calcification in aortic knuckle . Pls suggest.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM... She is 75 year old...So atheroma can be there.... X ray showing athromatous calcification. In atheroma from degenerated tissue dystrophic calcification can occur.... Following investigation can dine for it.... -Angiography -serum cholesterol -blood pressure measurement If coronary artery or aortic blockage high then repair done with stent.... Take low fat diet.... Take care .
