What Does This Abdominal Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi doctor, My mother in law is 47 years old she went through ultrasound abdominal her uterus is retroverted and measures 8.6x4.6x4.9cm a vague hyperechoic area 1.6x0.9cm seen in cervical canal near external os . No evidence of any focal lesions in the uterus. The endometrium measures 7mm in thickness. A minimal Free fluid is observed in pouch of douglas. Please suggest i need a second opinion from you people is this something to be worried or it can be cured with antibiotics Is it anything related to cervical canal cancer? Eagerly waiting for your reply.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your report there is a small nodule in your cervical canal( lower end of uterus). The uterus as such normal and doesn’t has any tumors or masses. It is better to go for a biopsy to make a diagnosis. You can go for a colposcopic biopsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
