Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have been experiencing an itchy rash for months. I had a blood test and the MPV is low at 6.5 and my ALT and AST have increased from last year from 17 to 25. I went to the dermatologist but the rash won t go away. My platelet count increased from last year from 193 to 245.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. There is no need to worry about your condition or blood report as to what it has indicated. The rashes what you could have experienced might be due to some allergic reaction and it appears that it has been effectively treated by Dermatologist. Your AST and ALT levels increase from 17 to 25 U/L is quite acceptable as it is within the reference range (Normal up to 40 U/L). However, if you are taking alcohol, you need to cut down in terms of frequency and quantity or stop it completely as it may damage the liver and increase your enzyme levels. Also, Platelet count increase from 1.93 L to 2.45 L is normal as the upper limit of normal platelets is 3 L. Hence, do not be worried about these things. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
